TARA

Longest Mountain River, pearl of nature, unpredictable and with given beauty, 150 km long and it is s
ituated within national park Durmitor"in Montenegro.
Its start is under Mt. Komovi on altitude of 1250 meters above sea level
and meets river Piva at Scepan polje making river Drina (433 m). It flows through wonderful canyon,
with banks over 1300 m high, which is the deepest Canyon in Europe and after Grand Canyon Colorado in the World.
There in canyon is the greatest concentration of herbs with medical properties on Earth, also great number of rare
herbal and animal kinds, and it is the biggest reservoir of drinkable water in Europe.
Full spectral of flora and fauna, rapids, cave jewelry, makes this canyon of Tara most beautiful in the World.
On 17th January 1977, River Tara and canyon are included on the list "Man and Biosphere"
and on 4th of September 1980 within National Park Durmitor declared
"World heritage of natural recourses of UNESCO"
complying with three (one is enough):
geological, hydrological and biological phenomena..
All these beauties and features of "The tear of Europe" means nothing until you feel coldness and taste of Tara water until you hear sound of the rapids or enjoy in the view from the rocks Canyon.
And when experienced personally, you stay forever in love with Tara.
